Pokemon Cake

This is a birthday cake for a friends little girl. It is french vanilla with chocolate buttercream filling and the sides have chocolate buttercream. The top is decorated with buttercream and fondant. My kids wanted to help make Sophia's cake so my daughter made the fruit and sandwich and two of the water pokemon and my son made the lava rocks. I think it turned out super cute and it was alot of fun to make.

Camoflage Peace Cake

I made this cake for a friend at my husband's work. It is french vanilla with chocolate buttercream. All the decorations (including the camoflage) is done with fondant. I pieced the fondant together piece by piece and then rolled over it - it worked fairly well. I then layed it over the carved peace sign cake. If I were to do this again I would probably make the "holes" in the peace sign in a solid color maybe black so you can tell better that it is a peace symbol. Now the pink wording is all my husband. He would have had alot more pink on the cake if I let him but I reigned him in enough that only the lettering and the peace symbols were pink.

That 70's Cake

This was a last minute cake for a 70's theme birthday party. There are quite a few things I would probably do differently if I did it again, but for last minute it wasn't to bad. The disco ball is made from pound cake and covered in fondant. The top layer was white covered in fondant and the bottom layer was chocolate covered in fondant and sprayed with edible coloring.

Red Velvet Cake with Flowers

This is a 6 inch triple layer red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and frosting. I had some issues with the frosting ... it was delicious but it didn't want to thicken up to stay on the cake so I had to put it in the fridge. I added a bunch of fondant roses to the top to make it pretty.

Saint Patrick's Day Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes for my daughters preschool... they are white cupcakes dyed green with a swirl of green frosting and shamrocks made from fondant. Two of them I added Shamrock cupcake collars to as there are 2 kids that have allergies in her preschool class and I wanted their cupcakes to be special also.

Princess Castle Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday party. She had picked out which cake she liked and since I had two cakes to make for the same day I went with the easier design that included ready made towers but I think next time I will make my own they were hard to use and didnt want to stick into the cake. The cake is a triple layered chocolate on the bottom and the top portion is a double layer chocolate. It is covered in butter cream but the trees, flowers and lettering are all made from fondant. It turned out really cute and everybody liked it.

Xbox Cake

I made these cakes for my son's 11th birthday ... originally it was suppose to be the entire gaming system (controller and the box) but I tried a new recipe for chocolate fondant and it wasnt very easy to work with and I ended up ruining the box part of the cake. You can see see in the picture of the controller cake how the fondant was cracking and yucky ... it tasted good just wasnt very smooth. So in the morning I made another cake and just kept it simple... it is a yellow cake with chocolate pudding inside. I did a fondant controller on top. My son was very happy with it.
